Through Weight Coaching you will develop trust in your own ability to recognize what you want to eat, when you want to eat, and how much you want to eat.Everyone’s pattern of eating is different, and I will help you uncover what works best for you.
We begin with an introductory session where you find out more about weight coaching and if it’s right for you.
We will set up regular sessions, usually weekly, lasting 60 minutes. During sessions we discuss your relationship with food, and in between sessions you may be asked to carry out certain ‘homework’ tasks.
As a coach I listen without judgment or criticism, and provide you with a confidential service that’s all about
helping you find permanent solutions.
I believe losing weight is about telling the truth. A kind of truth beyond admitting! Lets face it, when you eat because of stress, boredom, or depression you’re not reaching for something healthy...you’re much more likely to grab chips, cookies or other comfort foods.
Frequently subjecting your body to that kind of calorie high can lead to obesity, which is a leading cause of heart disease and diabetes.
Did you know that obesity is a bigger problem than heavy drinking and smoking combined in terms of chronic disease?!?My theory is that we all have an “Essential Self” who wants to live our “right life.”
But so often our real life is not our right life. If work or intimate relationships are keeping us from what we really want and need, the Essential Self
kicks up a fuss through eating, addiction and getting sick.
My goal is to break down your bad relationships with food. I focus on portion size and eating only to the point of fullness. Studies are very clear that the ability to throw food away is a great indicator of the ability to lose weight. It’s going to waste if it goes to your thighs, belly and upper arms too!
My role in exposing your
emotional eating triggers is so important. Without self-knowledge all the nutritional information in the world won’t do you any good! Because every time you need to relieve stress or heal an emotional wound - in other words, deal with life - you will probably resort to food. And life, happens every day.
When you are actually addressing the reasons for feeling fear, anger or frustration,
you won't feel as hungry as before. If you’re processing that mountain of emotional energy, you can’t eat, your relationship with food is an amazing passage to your deepest issues.
